TUESDAY MORNINGS MEDITATION 6-6:30AM ET

Each Tuesday morning we begin with tea in silence at 6AM for five minutes followed by 25 minutes of meditation. That's all.

The evening begins with tea in silence (During Zoom please bring your own small teacup), followed by sitting, (During Covid we will not do the following - walking outside if weather permits in the Zendo Moss Garden. Together again, inside, ) talk and discussion, a short sitting, then closing the evening with a chant for Loving Kindness in the Korean Zen tradition.

University of Southern Maine LAC Campus: Graduate and under-graduate course offering 3 credits. Summer is i five-day intensives. (On-line for first week Monday - Friday 8:30-4:30 with some flexible time in the afternoon TBA; followed by at home two weeks of Mindfulness practices, a short daily journal, some reading and a paper due two weeks after last class day). This course is open to all students in all disciplines. The course will focus on the foundations of Mindfulness- based Stress Reduction followed by integrating these basic skills specifically into your discipline.

This course is open to educators. Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction serves as the foundation of language of compassionate communication. Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction background is important. Permission by the instructor.



MINDFULNESS UNDER THE STARS

Come to the coast of Maine where you will be met on the dock for a trip by boat trip Whitehead Island where the sky is dark and where you can see stars that few can still see because there is little light pollution here. We will sharpen our mindfulness skills to enjoy the fresh air, dark skies, take early morning boat trips, learn constellations, listen to talks by astronomy educators who will have their telescopes for viewing on clear dark sky nights, feast on lobster, and stay in classy historically renovated rooms in the lighthouse keepers home and be served delicious home cooked meals using local ingredients. This is truly a relaxing and rejuvenating vacation.
